Original manga author Masashi Kishimoto, who also contributed multiple extra anime stories to Naruto in movies and other material, and the original concept for Boruto, has not yet been mentioned in the announcements. What the content of these brand-new episodes of Naruto will be is anyone's guess. A "Part II" for Boruto has been confirmed as green-lit, with news of a premiere date to come later. That series will thus be going on hiatus, with the aforementioned Naruto run filling its time slot. That series follows the children of the cast of the original anime, including Naruto's son Boruto, in a new generation of ninja battles and adventures.Ĭoinciding with this twentieth-anniversary announcement of selected reruns and new episodes for the original Naruto, it was confirmed that Boruto's 293rd episode on March 26 would be the finale of its "Part I". Following the conclusion of that series, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations premiered on April 5, 2017, and has been running since. The Naruto anime's time slot had not been neglected since Naruto: Shippuden wrapped. Once September arrives, the new episodes will air, ending just as October rolls around, fully coinciding with the anniversary of the anime's premiere. In the run-up to the brand-new episodes of Naruto, selected earlier episodes of the Naruto anime will begin re-running in Japan in July.
